The jggimi OpenBSD-based LiveCD / LiveDVD

Downloads

Last update: 4 April 2009 – 4.5-release.

Each LiveCD/LiveDVD is a bootable live media image of an already installed and working OpenBSD 4.5-release system. There are multiple configurations of i386 and amd64 architecture ISO files, in two types of compressed formats. All OpenBSD file sets except comp44.tgz are included in these systems. The compiler file set is unnecessary and was excluded to reduce space. You cannot install OpenBSD directly from these images. However, they do include the OpenBSD ramdisk kernel in order to conduct a network install, per my FAQ.

Configurations:

The Basic LiveCD is based on the default install. There are no 3rd party applications installed.

The Firefox LiveCD adds the Firefox browser to the Basic LiveCD image.

The FluxBox LiveCD includes the FluxBox window manager and the Firefox browser.

The XFCE LiveDVD includes the complete XFCE environment and the Firefox browser.

The KDE LiveDVD has the complete KDE environment, including Koffice and the Konqueror browser, but without the i18n internationalizations.

The Gnome LiveDVD includes the complete Gnome environment, including the Epiphany browser.

Memory requirements vary. Some configurations require more than ½ GB of RAM to function. Please see the FAQ for details.

Checksums file. Comparing two types of checksums is recommended!

There are ISO images for amd64 and i386. Be sure you download the right one!

Gnome, XFCE, and KDE ISOs require DVD media and DVD burning hardware, they are larger than the 700 MB limit of standard CDs.
